Zantac Lawsuits
- Zantac, an H2 Blocker, is a very popular antacid drug that has been around since the 1980s. In 2018, nearly 25 million prescriptions for Ranitidine were written.
- The FDA determined that the impurity in some Ranitidine products increases over time and when stored at higher than room temperatures, may result in consumer exposure to unacceptable levels of this impurity.
- Patients who took prescription or over-the-counter Zantac and developed or were diagnosed with cancer may join several pending mass tort lawsuits.
- The lawsuit alleges that that manufacturers knew that Ranitidine could form NDMA in the human body and increase cancer risk but failed to inform consumers. These companies put profits over consumer safety.
